Mistral AI released Magistral, a reasoning model available in two versions: Magistral Small (24 billion parameters, open-source) and Magistral Medium (enterprise). Magistral Medium scored 73.6% on the AIME 2024 benchmark and achieves 10 times faster token throughput than competitors in Le Chat. The model enables transparent, multilingual reasoning across eight languages and targets professional applications in law, finance, software development, and regulated industries where step-by-step logic can be audited.
