Mistral released Saba, a 24-billion parameter AI model trained on data from the Middle East and South Asia, designed to understand regional languages and cultural nuances better than larger general-purpose models. The model performs comparably to systems five times its size while running at over 150 tokens per second on single-GPU systems and is available both via API and for local deployment. Organizations can now deploy regionally specialized AI for conversational support, domain-specific applications, and culturally relevant content generation in Arabic and South Asian languages including Tamil.
