Horizon 1000: Advancing AI for primary healthcare

OpenAI and the Gates Foundation launched Horizon 1000, a $50 million pilot program to develop AI tools for healthcare delivery in Africa. The program targets deployment across 1,000 clinics by 2028. Clinics in participating regions will gain access to AI-assisted diagnostic and administrative tools designed for low-resource settings.
