Vienna startup reebuild raised €3 million to automate construction paperwork with A.I. It already processes more than €530 million in invoices, so this is less demo, more real workflow.

On building sites, the heavy machinery gets the attention. Behind the scenes, though, a lot of the work still runs through spreadsheets, paper folders and someone staring at invoices long enough to regret their career choices. Vienna-based reebuild wants to replace that grind, and it has now raised €3 million in seed funding to do it.
The round was led by Fortino Ventures, with Rise PropTech and CuriosityVC also joining in. reebuild uses A.I. to handle the commercial back office for construction companies and property developers: invoice checking, cost management and materials management. It reads incoming documents line by line, whether they arrive as PDFs, photos, scans or e-invoices, then matches them automatically. Delivery notes, invoices and order confirmations are tied together, and corrections are recalculated. Foremen can photograph a delivery note in the app, and the system handles the rest.
The company says its tools are already in use at more than 120 customers, including Pittel+Brausewetter, 3SI Immogroup, Rödl & Herdegen and the Kratzert Group. Across more than 8,200 construction sites and projects, reebuild says it has processed more than 345,000 documents and handled invoice volume of more than €530 million. It claims invoice processing now takes about three minutes instead of more than 20, while the path from receipt to approval drops from five days to one and a half.
That is a strong pitch in an industry where margins are usually thin. Customers also report procurement costs that are up to 20 percent lower, according to the company and its feedback from users. And the product is still not trying to fire the humans: A.I. agents prepare approvals and suggest the next steps, but people make the decisions.
The founders know the sector from the inside. Alexander Kornell, the chief executive, and Matteo Cimadom, the chief revenue officer, come from construction family businesses. The team also includes Luca Papay as CTO and Nicolaus Lederer as COO. Paul Lind, who co-founded reebuild in 2022 and was once chief executive, is no longer on board and now works at CesiumAstro, where he was recently promoted to director of business development and strategy.
The new money will go into hiring, product work and expansion. reebuild, which develops its software in Vienna and hosts it in Germany, wants to build more A.I. modules and move toward an “agentic back office” where A.I. handles checking, matching and pre-booking on its own. After Austria and Germany, the company plans to expand into other European countries, where it already has development partnerships.
My take — AI-written commentary, not fact-checked reporting
Construction software has been a museum of bad habits for too long, so a product that attacks the invoice swamp instead of painting a shiny dashboard deserves attention. The real test, of course, is whether the A.I. keeps behaving once the paperwork gets ugly, which in construction is basically every day. But if the sector can let cranes be modern and admin be ancient, someone should at least be embarrassed.
