Product Hunt Zac Zuo

Tiden checks whether coding agents built what you asked for. It runs the verdict in your own environment instead of letting a model grade the diff.

Summary, retelling and take written by AI under human oversight; images are AI-generated illustrations. How we work · Report an error

Tiden launched today with a simple pitch: coding agents should be checked against what was actually asked, not just whether their own tests happen to pass. That matters because a test written in the same session as the code can quietly agree with the code by construction. Convenient. Also a little suspect.

The company says it keeps intent as requirements that branch and merge like code, then checks each change against that record. So instead of treating the output as a standalone patch, Tiden treats the request itself as something that has to survive the whole process.

The verdict comes from tests run in your environment, and not from a model sitting there grading the diff. That’s the part that gives the product its edge. It pushes judgment back into the place where the code will actually live, which is where surprises tend to show up anyway.

Tiden also says you decide what merges, and that production errors can be traced back to the release. It works alongside Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and Copilot, which puts it squarely in the current crop of AI coding tools instead of trying to replace them outright. The idea is not to make agents smarter. It’s to make them easier to trust.

My take — AI-written commentary, not fact-checked reporting

This is the right instinct: less AI self-congratulation, more checking against the thing the human actually wanted. The industry has spent long enough pretending that a model can grade its own homework and call it rigor. A little boring verification is usually where the real value hides.
