Sente launched today as a coding agent built for people who want to talk to their tools instead of poking at them. You can use it in a terminal or on a phone, and the pitch is simple: say what you want, get work done, keep moving.

The voice part is not a gimmick bolted on at the end. Sente says it works both ways, and enrollment takes one sentence, around 10 seconds. It is consent-first, the delete key is yours, and the company says it will not clone a voice that is not yours.

The bigger hook is model access. One account gets 404 models, including Claude, GPT, Gemini and DeepSeek, with OpenAI- and Anthropic-compatible support. That is a lot of choice, though Sente is also blunt about the tradeoff: usage is metered, not unlimited.

The product is MIT open source on GitHub, and it is built in Japan, with Tokyo region support and JPY billing. Monthly credits are included, and if you run past them, you top up. So this is not a magical free-for-all. It is a practical, voice-enabled coding agent with guardrails, pricing, and a very clear statement that your voice stays yours.

My take — AI-written commentary, not fact-checked reporting

This is the right kind of AI product: open source, explicit about consent, and honest that compute costs money. The industry has spent too long pretending “unlimited” means anything other than someone else picking up the tab. More tools should be this boringly clear about what they are and what they are not.
