Runway introduces Solaris (Interface World Model)

Runway introduced Solaris, a first “Interface World Model” designed to render and update app or website interfaces in real time directly from user interactions. It uses a Gen-4.5 video generation model adapted to generate frames autoregressively with only a few denoising steps to reach interactive speeds. The approach removes an intermediate “translation” layer (visual design to code), aiming for more coherent, visually faithful, continuously evolving interfaces and more adaptable agent training environments.
Why it matters
Runway’s Solaris is presented as an “interface world model” where instead of writing HTML and CSS, the system generates the interface and responds to user actions. The issue’s mental model: it predicts the next visual state directly—conditioning on your click, drag, or keystroke.
