Remocn Studio

Product Hunt KapishDima

Remocn Studio launched: a free, open-source macOS app for AI-made video. Your Claude Code, Copilot, Codex or Grok builds a real Remotion project, live.

Remocn Studio is trying to make video editing feel less like dragging clips around and more like working on a project with an AI helper that actually does the building. The app is free, open source, and made for macOS. Instead of a traditional timeline, it turns your prompts into a real Remotion project.

The pitch is simple: give instructions in chat, watch the video change live, then click on any element and tweak it directly. The app says it works with your own Claude Code, Codex, Copilot or Grok setup, so the editor is acting more like a front end for whichever model you already use.

That matters because it keeps the work editable in a concrete way. The source says you can export MP4 files up to 4K, and because the output is a Remotion project rather than a closed format, there’s less of the usual lock-in that comes with AI creative tools.

The result sounds aimed at developers as much as video people. Product Hunt’s launch tags put it in Developer Tools and Artificial Intelligence, which is about right: this is less “press button, get movie” and more “let code and chat do the heavy lifting, then still touch the thing yourself.”

My take — AI-written commentary, not fact-checked reporting

Open-source AI tools keep winning one small argument: people trust software more when they can see the gears. The closed-model crowd loves the magic act; the open-source crowd wants the receipt, the source, and ideally fewer surprises when the export button gets pressed. That’s not glamorous, but it’s how a lot of useful tools actually stick.
