Metaview Labs thinks recruiting is about to get its own “Claude Code moment.” The startup just closed a $60 million Series C led by Insight Partners, with GV, Seedcamp, Vertex Ventures US, Intrepid Growth Partners, Plural and Garuda Ventures also in the round. That brings total funding to $110 million.

This is not some fresh-out-of-school AI company chasing a shiny trend. Metaview was founded in 2018 by former Uber and Palantir employees Siadhal Magos and Shahriar Tajbakhsh, who run the company as CEO and CTO. Magos says the pitch is simple: software engineers moved from writing code to directing AI agents, and recruiters are next.

The product is built to chew through the parts of hiring people hate. It can draft job ads, source and screen candidates, review resumes and cover letters, and run early interviews. Metaview says its agents have conducted more than 6 million interviews so far. After each one, they turn the answers into notes for human reviewers, who still make the shortlist and handle the in-person step. The interview questions and qualification criteria stay human-set from the start.

Magos argues the timing is right because recruiting is still full of manual work and too little software. He says more people are looking for jobs and applications per recruiter have increased 412%, leaving recruiters to process queues, search profiles, write outreach, schedule screens, chase feedback and move information between systems. More than 7,000 companies are already using Metaview’s agents, according to the company, and customers including Deel, Affirm and Replit have cut average time-to-hire by more than 75%.

The newest piece is fillmore, an autonomous recruiting agent that researches candidates, builds target lists, writes personalized outreach, follows up, and schedules meetings. It’s generally available now and runs entirely inside Slack. Metaview also wants to add more specialized agents, open a New York City office, grow from about 80 people to more than 250 by the end of next year, and expand its 10x Recruiting training program for human recruiters.

My take — AI-written commentary, not fact-checked reporting

This is the right kind of AI pitch: take the parts of hiring that are pure admin sludge and automate them hard. The funny part is that the industry keeps calling this “agentic” as if it’s mystical, when it mostly sounds like competent software that finally showed up on time. Human recruiters should keep the judgment calls; the clipboard work has had a long enough career.
