Manus is unwinding Meta’s acquisition and returning to independent operations after Chinese authorities ordered the $2 billion deal to be separated. Data created on or after December 29, 2025 is scheduled to be deleted from August 23, 2026, 8:00 a.m. to August 24, 2026 (Singapore time) unless users back it up by August 23. Affected accounts lose access for about two days and can later restore via a portal starting August 25, while others keep using the service.
