Anthropic’s Claude moved from “model that writes” to “model that finds,” and the day’s most consequential thread was its wet-lab result: during 21 hours of mining DNA databases, roughly 950 Claude agents chewed through about 210 million tokens and surfaced an enzyme system with CRISPR-like repeat DNA arrays. Anthropic says the autonomous search led to a previously uncharacterized system it calls ART, now being tested in ongoing experiments. It’s the kind of milestone that quietly changes what enterprises will ask AI labs to do next—not just propose hypotheses, but help generate ones that show up in the real world.
