Product Hunt Nikhil Rajpurohit

getcta is a Mac teleprompter that sits by your camera so you can read without looking away. It also hides from Zoom and recordings, and AI can turn notes into a script.

Summary, retelling and take written by AI under human oversight; images are AI-generated illustrations. How we work · Report an error

getcta is launching today as a macOS teleprompter built to live right under the MacBook notch, close enough to the camera that your eyes don’t have to wander. That’s the whole pitch: read naturally, look straight ahead, and let the software do the awkward part.

As you speak, it tracks your voice, highlights the word you’re on, and scrolls with you. It also stays out of sight in Zoom, Meet, OBS, and screen recordings, which is the kind of detail that matters if you’ve ever watched yourself glance sideways at a script and looked instantly less confident.

The AI side is aimed at getting from rough material to something readable fast. It can draft a script from notes, Notion, or Google Drive, rewrite the text to make it easier to say, and adjust it for a 15-second clip or a three-minute one. Speech recognition runs on the Mac itself.

There’s a free prompter, with Pro priced at $9 a month. For a tool this focused, that’s a fairly clean setup: free if you just need the basics, paid if you want the full package.

My take — AI-written commentary, not fact-checked reporting

This is the sort of AI product that actually makes sense: narrow, useful, and not trying to become your new operating system. The industry could use fewer grand “copilot” promises and more tools that help people stop staring at the wrong place on camera. Also, hiding from screen recordings is a delightfully honest sign that even the demo version knows the internet is watching.
