Vishal Sikka’s new startup Hang Ten Systems has pulled in another $53 million, bringing its total seed funding to $85 million in less than three months. That’s an unusually fast second bite at the same apple, and it says something about how aggressively investors are chasing enterprise AI that actually ships work, not demos.

Hang Ten is selling advisory, transformation and applied AI services to large companies that want AI embedded inside their businesses. Its pitch is blunt: use agentic code generation, a reusable skills library and domain experts to build, change and run software faster and cheaper than a traditional systems integrator. Sikka told TechCrunch the build phase has become “close to zero marginal cost” and “close to zero time.”

The company says the two rounds closed five weeks apart, and in that window it signed several contracts worth millions each with global enterprises. Some of those deals run for multiple years, and some work is already finished. TechCrunch reported that Hang Ten’s customers and late-stage prospects total 21 large enterprises, including one multimillion-dollar deal signed within 25 days of the first meeting.

Two customers were named: Saudi Arabian Oil Co., where Hang Ten is building applications for several functions, and Siemens Gamesa, Siemens Energy AG’s wind unit. Siemens Gamesa brought the startup in two months ago with a short list of outcomes it wanted proven; chief executive Vinod Philip said the delivery impressed the company, and the scope has since widened.

The new money will go into delivery capacity for current engagements, plus a larger engineering and consulting team. Some of it will also support the platform, infrastructure and skills library. Hang Ten currently has 20 to 25 employees across the U.S., the Middle East and Australia, and it plans to hire in Europe and India. Investors in the round include Xora Innovation, Mayfield, Aramco Ventures, Lip-Bu Tan, Sanjay Mehrotra and Jerry Yang, who has joined the board.

My take — AI-written commentary, not fact-checked reporting

This is the enterprise AI business in its most honest form: less magic, more implementation grind. That’s why the money is showing up here, not in glossy chatbot theater. If the pitch is “we’ll make the software work,” boring wins again.
