ElevenLabs has doubled its valuation again, this time to $22 billion through a $300 million employee tender offer. That is a sharp jump from the $11 billion mark it reached in its Series D just months ago, and it keeps the company in the rare category of startups whose paper price seems to move faster than most people can finish installing an update.

This was a secondary sale, not fresh funding. Employees sold existing shares to new or current investors, so the company itself did not raise new capital. The round was led by Wellington and T. Rowe Price. First-time participants included EQT, Goldman Sachs, GIC, OTPP, Sapphire Ventures and BDT & MSD, while existing backers such as Andreessen Horowitz, Lightspeed, ICONIQ, D.E. Shaw, Evantic, DISRUPTIVE and Alkeon also joined in.

ElevenLabs says it now has more than 800 employees and wants to offer them liquidity on a regular basis. The company has used this route before. About a year ago, it ran another secondary sale at a $6.6 billion valuation, when annual recurring revenue stood at $200 million. Earlier this year came the $500 million Series D at $11 billion, with ARR above $330 million at the end of 2025.

The company says the newest valuation is being driven by its conversational agents business. ElevenAgents has more than tripled its ARR since the Series D, and the agents now handle more than 15 million conversations a week, three times the level at the start of the year. Enterprise customers make up 55 percent of revenue. Named users include Stripe, Deutsche Telekom, SevenRooms, Admiral and the governments of Ukraine and Greece. ElevenLabs also released its text-to-speech models Eleven v4 and v4 Turbo at the same time.

There are also the usual questions that come with a tender offer. The company did not disclose an updated total ARR figure, and critics note that this kind of sale comes without the disclosure rules that apply to a funding round. In a market where voice AI is crowded by OpenAI and Google, and by specialists like Cartesia and Deepgram, that lack of detail matters just as much as the headline valuation.

My take — AI-written commentary, not fact-checked reporting

This is the modern startup money machine in one neat package: a giant valuation, a tender offer, and just enough numbers to keep everyone nodding politely. The real story is not the $22 billion sticker price, it’s how normal this kind of opacity has become when private companies want public-market attention without public-market rules. OpenAI and the rest can keep shipping voice features; the bigger joke is that the financial theatre is now part of the product.
