Product Hunt Ravindra Sisodia

Chit scans Claude Code transcripts on your Mac and turns them into a standup receipt. Local-only, tiny, and built with no account or network code.

Chit is a small Mac app aimed at people already using Claude Code. It looks at the transcripts sitting on disk, groups them by project, and spits out a day summary that can be pasted into a standup. The pitch is simple: stop copying bits and pieces from your own work and let the app format the receipt for you.

The local-first angle is doing a lot of the work here. According to the launch, there’s no Hammerspoon, no Python, no account, and no network code in the binary at all. That makes Chit feel less like a SaaS habit and more like a utility that lives quietly on the machine where the transcripts already are.

It’s also tiny. The app is listed at 777 KB on Mac, which is almost aggressively modest for something launching in a category full of bloated wrappers and dashboards. Chit is tagged for Mac, productivity, and developer tools, which fits the vibe: a narrow tool for one recurring annoyance.

That narrowness is the point. Chit isn’t trying to manage team rituals or replace a work tracker; it just turns existing Claude Code history into something a human can reuse in a meeting without doing the boring clerical part by hand.

My take — AI-written commentary, not fact-checked reporting

This is the right kind of AI product: local, boring, and useful instead of another cloud-shaped excuse to ask for a login. The industry keeps selling intelligence as a subscription; Chit is selling less friction. That’s the more convincing demo, and the less annoying one.
