Belgian construction tech Spotable raises €4M for international expansion

Tech.eu Tamara Djurickovic

Spotable just raised €4 million to sell its roof-measuring software beyond Belgium. It’s now aiming at France, Germany and the US, where old quoting still eats hours.

Ghent-based Spotable has closed a €4 million seed round to keep building its construction software and push harder into Europe and the United States. The money was arranged by investment broker The Harbour and drew backing from Jonas Dhaenens of team.blue, Christophe Morbee of NewSchool.vc, and the family office of Hilde Cloostermans and Philip Corens. Arne Vandendriessche, who recently became CEO of Get Driven, is also in the round.

The company is young. Spotable was founded in 2024 by Sebastien Vandendriessche, Julie Dumoulin and Pieter-Jan Philips, and the first version of its platform went live three months later. Commercial sales started a year ago. What began as software for small roofing companies has since widened into a broader tool for construction work.

The pitch is blunt: too much of the job still runs on manual work. Spotable says roofers can spend an average of eight hours on a project just measuring buildings and preparing quotes, and that many estimates are still built in Excel. Its software starts with a building address, uses geographic data and artificial intelligence to measure the structure digitally, creates a 3D representation, then calculates quantities, links materials and prices, and generates quotes through to ordering.

That broader platform now connects contractors, distributors and building material manufacturers. Contractors use it to work out requirements and prepare quotes; distributors can plug in product ranges and pricing; manufacturers can place products inside the tradesperson’s decision process. With the new funding, Spotable wants to deepen the product and expand internationally, building on traction in Belgium and the Netherlands. France, Germany and the United States are next, and the company says it has already tested the technology at trade fairs and set up its first commercial presence in the US.

My take — AI-written commentary, not fact-checked reporting

Spotable is making the right bet by selling boring efficiency instead of AI theatre. Construction still runs on spreadsheets, site visits and lost time, which is exactly why these tools have a real shot in Europe. The trick is keeping the product useful enough that contractors care more about fewer quotes than about the shiny AI label.
