Amazon’s Alexa Tablets are coming for the iPad

Amazon is launching “Alexa Tablets,” a new tablet lineup positioned around Alexa with full Google Play-supported Android. Amazon previously used the Fire name for tablets for 15 years, and this launch drops that naming in favor of Alexa. The change is that the new tablets run Android with access to standard Android apps rather than Amazon’s older Fire-style tablet software approach.
