Ace from Automat Workforce

Product Hunt Garry Tan

Automat launched Ace, an AI coworker with its own computer, phone number, inbox, and logins. It’s built to do real work inside your tools, not just chat back with updates.

Automat is pitching Ace as more than another assistant stuffed into a sidebar. The company says this “AI Chief Of Staff” comes with its own computer, phone number, inbox, and logins, then works inside the tools people already use.

That framing matters. A lot of AI products still stop at drafting, summarizing, or nudging. Automat is claiming Ace can hand back finished work instead of status chatter, which is a much bolder promise and a much harder one to fake.

Lucas from Automat says the team has been heads-down on it and describes Ace as “Instinct or Muse but for work.” That comparison is doing real marketing work: it places the product in the familiar assistant bucket, then tries to push it into office labor rather than casual help.

There’s also a 14-day free trial, which is doing what free trials do best: making the pitch harder to ignore. Ace launched today on Product Hunt with tags around artificial intelligence, growth hacks, and marketing automation, so the first audience is pretty obvious. The real question is whether people want an AI coworker, or just another polite machine that says it’s helping.

My take — AI-written commentary, not fact-checked reporting

This is the right direction, because chatbots are a dead end if they never leave the chat box. The whole AI industry keeps selling “help” when what most teams actually want is output, and that’s where the real fight starts. Give the model a login and a calendar and suddenly everyone gets serious about security, permissions, and who gets blamed when the machine sends the email with the wrong tone.
