AI is moving past “prompt and predict” into something closer to operations: agents that run continuously, get checked in production, and learn from what actually happens. Cognition’s always-on setup connected software development work to continuous inference, feedback, and training so its Devin could improve from production outcomes, targeting 99.99% reliability for distributed learning across thousands of GPUs—an admission that “reasoning” is only half the job. Dynatrace then doubled down on the other half by buying Arize for $915 million, merging full-stack observability with AI model and agent tracing, evaluation, and debugging. The message is clear: if agents take actions, teams need visibility that’s designed for actions, not just logs.
