Companies are shifting from chatbot-style answers to systems that can search internal data, call tools, and finish workflow tasks, but the emphasis has moved to structured context layers, governance, and human-in-the-loop oversight. European agentic startups already raised €7.9bn this year, ahead of last year’s €7bn, while security vendors are making it clear that the hard problem is less “can the model act?” and more “what did it actually do, and how do we stop the next mistake?”.
