AI’s day-to-day momentum is still about making models faster, cheaper, and easier to deploy—but the thread pulling everything together is control: who can instruct whom, where failures hide, and how to prove the system behaved as intended. The loudest warning came from attention shifting to agent-to-agent communication. A prompt-injection technique can exploit trust between AI agents, letting one compromised agent spread malicious instructions to others. Google and four other organizations acknowledged the issue in the past five months, and the Model Context Protocol (MCP), used to wire agent conversations, is now being flagged as especially hard to mitigate.
