Sentence Transformers is a Python library for converting text into numerical embeddings so systems can perform semantic search and similarity comparisons. Recent coverage highlights new training and finetuning workflows (via SentenceTransformerTrainer), including support for multimodal embeddings and rerankers that handle text, images, audio, and video, as well as efficiency-focused training methods for static embedding models.
