South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT and KT announce a partnership

Partnership Provisional 72% confidence first seen

South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT selected consortia led by KT (alongside SK Telecom and Kakao) to deliver its “AI for All” free public AI services to the population. The state will supply 512 Nvidia B200 GPUs across the three operators and contracts were reported as due to be signed next month, with a launch planned later this year. The partnership matters because it makes the operators run free AI agents for users—including public-administration workflows—while the government underwrites key compute and requires that at least half of each system run on domestic models.
