Qualcomm announced two new smartphone chipsets: the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, both built on a 2nm process. The Extreme model focuses on enhanced AI processing, video capture, and gaming performance, including support for running a large (up to 30B parameter) mixture-of-experts model locally for features such as voice agents and sensing capabilities.
