NVIDIA and Vera Rubin NVL72 announce a partnership
Partnership Provisional 72% confidence first seen
The New Stack reports that SpaceX and Nvidia announced they are adapting Nvidia’s Vera Rubin NVL72 rack-scale AI platform for Low Earth Orbit use, as the computing core for SpaceX’s first-generation Starmind AI satellites. SpaceX targets a first launch in Q4 2027, with significant scale planned for 2028, and Elon Musk said the system is designed for launch to orbit in partnership with Nvidia. The coverage says the effort matters because the NVL72 architecture is being modified from terrestrial assumptions (gravity, grid power, Earth cooling) to orbital requirements such as closed-loop cooling and radiation tolerance.
