Google is rolling out an early-access Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for Google Home, enabling AI agents that support MCP to control connected smart home devices and access event history. The rollout starts with U.S. subscribers of the Google Home Premium Advanced tier and requires users to create a Google Cloud project, configure Home MCP, and grant permissions to an MCP-capable agent.
