Fireworks AI announced the release of Ember-1, a post-trained version of Moonshot AI’s open-weight Kimi K3 intended to reduce reasoning token usage while maintaining similar output quality. The model is offered only through Fireworks’ serverless API as a Research Preview, and its weights and training code were not published. Reported tests showed Ember-1 completing benchmarks faster while using fewer reasoning tokens, with a small accuracy difference in one case.
