Amazon launched updates to its Alexa for Shopping features. The system can send personalized “Update Me When” notifications about items or events that may prompt shopping, and it can also help users verify whether an email, text, or phone call claiming to be from Amazon is authentic. Amazon says the verification should reduce reliance on visual cues and is expected to improve over time as it receives more reports.
