Sentence Transformers (SBERT) is a Python module for computing embeddings and reranker models from text, images, audio, and video, designed for applications including semantic search and textual similarity. The library provides access to over 10,000 pre-trained models available on Hugging Face and supports training or fine-tuning custom embedding, reranker, and sparse encoder models. Sentence Transformers was created by UKP Lab and is currently maintained by Hugging Face. Version 5.5 introduced a train-sentence-transformers Agent Skill for use with AI coding agents.
