Overview of all AI Act National Implementation Plans
AI Act 1 year ago
EU Member States are implementing the AI Act by designating national authorities responsible for market surveillance, conformity assessment notification, and fundamental rights oversight, with the deadline of August 2025 for market surveillance and notifying authorities already passed. As of June 2026, only 9 of 27 EU Member States had clearly designated both required competent authorities, while 12 had partial clarity and 6 remained unclear. All Member States have designated fundamental rights protection authorities, but significant variation exists in implementation approaches, from Cyprus's centralized model to Finland's decentralized system across multiple agencies.
