French startup Actionable has raised $10 million to push its customer intelligence platform further, with Hi Inov leading the round and Axeleo Capital also in. The company, founded in 2024 by co-CEOs Nicolas Rieul and Nans Thomas, is betting that customer data becomes far more useful when it is tied to the messy reality of how businesses actually run.

That’s the gap Actionable says it is trying to close. Traditional satisfaction surveys only hear from a slice of customers, while many predictive marketing tools lean mostly on transaction and CRM data. Actionable adds operational data from across the customer journey, then uses it to predict churn, satisfaction, complaint risk and repeat purchases for individual customers.

The platform stitches together transactions, CRM records, web analytics and sector-specific operational details into a customer data model. In retail, that can mean waiting times and order preparation. In transport, load factors and delays. In e-commerce, delivery times. The company says it already works across retail, financial services, insurance, transport, energy, telecoms and automotive.

What Actionable is really selling is context. Clients hand over raw tabular data, and the system rebuilds customer journeys and standardises them into a model the business can actually use. The company says that can cut data engineering work from months to days. And Thomas argues the point bluntly: an LLM sitting on top of a warehouse is not enough if it can’t understand the business behind the tables.

The startup has also built Actionable Intelligence, an AI agent that uses that model to run analysis while keeping the underlying business context intact. The new money is going toward product, engineering and sales, plus international expansion through reseller partners and a push into the US market.

My take — AI-written commentary, not fact-checked reporting

This is the unglamorous kind of AI story that actually matters: less chatbot theatre, more plumbing. Lots of firms want predictions; fewer are willing to do the boring work of making their data mean something first. That’s where the real moat is, not in slapping an LLM on a warehouse and hoping it behaves.
