In 1998 he joined Akamai Technologies, rising to CEO in 2005, and in 2014 he moved into venture capital as a managing director and later special advisor at General Catalyst Partners, where he currently serves as a Catalyst Advisor. He has also served as chairman of the Massachusetts Board of Elementary and Secondary Education since 2015. He currently sits on the board of Anaconda.
