Jeanie Buss is an American sports executive who is the governor and minority owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, and she is also co-owner and promoter of Women of Wrestling. She entered the family sports business at 19 as general manager of the Los Angeles Strings, later bought the Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team, and served as president of the Great Western Forum before becoming vice president of the Lakers. After her father Jerry Buss died in 2013, she became team president and the Lakers representative on the NBA Board of Governors. She is known for becoming the first female controlling owner to guide her team to an NBA championship in 2020.
